Reborn in 2009 from the remains of BMW, Team Sauber, remains as one of the historical Formula one teams of the competition.
Since their return in 2010 the team has escalated positions and settled within the upper middle part of the standings. With the 40 points obtained in 2010 they managed to beat the rest of new comers, like Toro Rosso, during that season. Then in 2011 they managed to increase their return to 44 points with the performances of Sergio Perez and Kaumi Kobayashi.
Things have apparently gone very well for Sauber, with this in mind Peter Sauber is waiting for the opportunity to make the big jump and consolidate as one of the top teams.
However, as much as the team has advanced in the last couple of seasons rumours have spread that their two main pilots, Kobayashi and PĂ©rez that gave so good results the previous season, may leave the team promptly, leaving Sauber in a very difficult position to replace its drivers.
The two racers have grown at the same pace as the team and are accustomed to the car; it would be difficult to select two new drivers to come straight in for business, here are the most viable options for Sauber:
