Seven-time Formula One World Champion Michael Schumacher believes that Sebastian Vettel could move to Ferrari in search of a “new challenge.”
The Red Bull man has been linked with a possible 2014 move to the Scuderia, with some areas of the media suggesting that a pre-contract deal has already been agreed.
This speculation was fuelled further recently as felipe Massa penned a one-year contract extension with the team for the 2013 season.
‘Schumi’ believes that the possibility of Vettel joining Ferrari cannot be ruled out:
“Seb speaks in high tones about Ferrari, but I don’t know what the future holds.” He told Berlin’s DPA news agency.
“At some point, it may be that he is looking for a new challenge too.”
Schumacher, Ferrari’s most successful driver of all time, joined the Scuderia in 1996 winning five World Drivers’ Championships.
